It had been three days since Turi relieved Tallis’s ladies-in-waiting from their duty. It was a difficult task. He had watched several of them grow with his sister and he knew she would miss them. She would miss their company, companionship and, more importantly, their service.

Lord Turi Emberiz sat before a large oak desk as the empire’s independent auditor analyzed  a stack of receipts and folded parchments. The man checked each paper against a thick ledger, making notes in the margins, but remained quiet the entire time. Turi sat crossed legged and calm, hands resting on his lap, his pet leopard lying calmly on the floor next to his chair. He hoped this visit would mark the end of House Emberiz’s public humiliation, the settling of all their debts regardless of how they were paid.

Hey readers! I hope you’ve enjoyed the first few chapters of Trials of the Prey. Picking up right where Trials of The Hunt left off, this is the second installment of Prince Gannon Lupuna’s journey of self-exploration. I’m still cranking out new chapters weekly (Fridays), but I’ve been invited to collaborate on a new project. We are currently in the brainstorming stage. Next will come the research (which, as you know, I LOVE). I promise not to take too long researching so that the writing takes a back seat. Actual writing should begin very soon. I’m excited to start writing something new, with a different focus than the Trials series. This project is more role-playing focused with a large world building element.

I’m also tinkering around with the final details of the Trials series and brainstorming for a new series. Wild Royal is currently with the editor, I’m looking at more platforms for publishing, and my supreme IT specialist is hard at work managing my WordPress mistakes. Things at Wild Royal are rolling right along just in time for Fall/Winter season. I can’t wait to announce and release these new projects!

vacation beach Well, not entirely. This is the time of year when I take a much needed break from blog posts, FacebookWattpad, researching for future stories and projects and so on and so forth. This year, while I am cutting back a little, I have part two of Trials of The Hunt to jump-start. There is no full-on vacation, except for a couple weekends here and there, and a week for GenCon in August.

To keep up appearances with the sidhe, Sloane and father had done their best to make our meetings strictly about the business of returning my mother’s remains to her family in the north. I knew they intended me to remain there. They were unsure how all of this loss would affect me. No one could know how my trials would be affected, or even if this was part of my trials. It was Turi who said, “…it can’t all be battles and sword fights.” He had to be right. Father still led the Wild Hunt, and I hadn’t answered the call since that fateful night. The brethren understood my hesitation after what happened the last time I rode with them. Even Orion didn’t bother me about joining them. I needed time. This trip, these trials, were the perfect excuse to take my time from the Horde.
