About Akira

I’ve taken the bull by the horns and published my story on Wattpad. I posted the first chapter on January 1st of this year on both Wattpad and my website. I hope this is the beginning of wonderful things this year!

I enjoy RPGs, writing, miniature painting, cooking, board games, and a host of other things. My interests are too varied to list all of them. Right now I’m listening to Enya, Fitz & the Tantrums, and Maroon 5 when I’m writing. I’ve been really inspired by royalty free music on Jamendo lately. Celestial Aeon Project is one of my favorites. The Final Fantasy X and X2 soundtracks were really good to groove to in the beginning of the writing as well.

Since I started writing I don’t have too much time for tv, but when I do get a chance to sit and enjoy I prefer Game of Thrones, Defiance, The Americans, and Tanked.

As far as what I like to read, there are no individual titles that stand out, more like favorite genre. I enjoy fantasy and urban thrillers. The more unusual the better. Vampires, werewolves, faeries, magic, and supernatural phenomenon are the things that make me turn the page and keep reading.

I like a good movie just as much as the next girl, but I don’t get out to the movies all that much. No problem though, nothing worth twenty bucks has come out in a while. I’m hesitant to say that I like comic adaptations, because so many have tried and failed. The most recent that I liked were the newer Marvel films, the first Spiderman (Spiderman 2 was okay, but 3 was awful), and the first X-Men (although the second was good I thought they tried to throw too many mutants on screen at once and it muddied the waters.) My husband took me to see the Punisher for our first date so that one holds a little sentimentality for me. He swears we went to see Hellboy for our second, but I dispute that claim to this day. He’s an asian horror buff and has been trying to bring me to the dark side for over ten years now. A few too many bad horror films and I have yet to be swayed.
